Star Change!

When the evil organization Jark Matter has conquered nearly every planet in the galaxy, the heroic Rebellion arises! This team is comprised of the 12 (yes, twelve!), Kyurangers, warriors chosen by the Kyutama, to fight for what is right! Given the power of the 88 constellations, and a whole lot of luck, they won't back down as they go through the galaxy to find the other warriors and take down Don Armage, leader of Jark Matter.

As the series goes, more and more warriors rise to the occcasion and take refuge onboard the Orion, the Rebellion spaceship. Robots, aliens, warriors from centuries past, thieves, and even royalty join the rebellion and become part of the family. They're the kyurangers, and they're gonna take back the galaxy!

Favorite Characters!

Shou Ronpo a.k.a. Ryu Commander

The Commander of the Kyurangers, Shou Ronpo seems like a stern leader at first, but in actuality is a goofy old dragon. He is the successor to Big Bear, the previous commander, who he blames himself for the death of. This doesn't keep him down however, as he constantly fights to be his best, and to push everyone around him to be better as well, even with his more silly tendencies, like his affinity for dancing and Kyuranger puns. Shou can be serious when it's needed, and is not a threat to be taken lightly, being just as capable of a fighter, and so deeply caring about the galaxy that he managed to get his wish granted by a Kyutama to become the 10th Kyuranger.

This man right here is my favorite Sentai Ranger, and one of my favorite characters of all time, not to mention a HUGE crush. I love everything about him, really. He's endearingly silly in ways that genuinely are hilarious. He has a love for making puns and doing a Kyu-lette, a roulette wheel that decides which Kyurangers go out on any given mission, complete with a whole song and dance. He carries a lot of depth with him as well, literally wearing the coat of the man who saved him from death, which he blames himself for. He's a fantastic mentor to the Kyurangers, not just reminding them to keep themselves light, but filled with in depth knowledge about the Kyutamas and fantastic war strategies. Not to mention the sick cane he has, and a whole coat on his unique suit.

Garu a.k.a. Ookami Blue

Garu is the last remaining member of his tribe on the planet Jagjag, and came into ownership of the Kyutama shortly after they were wiped out, but was unable to bring himself to fight and use it at first. After a wakeup call from Red Ranger Lucky, he used it and become Ookami Blue. He regained his fighting spirit after, and become one of the strongest driving forces of the team, never letting anyone falter in their mission to destroy Jark Matter. He carries the memory of his people with him always, but is able to move on and live happily after a while.

Garu is unfortunately a character who doesn't get a whole lot of in-depth story, but good lord I love him regardless, and I love what is there. It's a cliche to call the red and blue characters, but Garu is so, so very clearly in love with Lucky, that it's insane. He's the only one who can ever manage to get Lucky out of a slump, just like Lucky had done for him. Garu also has a whole arc about crossdressing and a scene where he fights a crossdressing version of himself which I, try as I might, cannot read as anything other fighting and accepting his inner queerness. Besides that, he's intensely passionate, and a real beacon of light for the team, always ready to lift people up and help at any given occasion.

Champ a.k.a. Oushi Black

The strangest ranger who wears that with pride, Bridge Carson, the Green Ranger. He is a shining example of a fantastic "comic relief" character who can also easily carry heavy emotional moments, and be taken just as serious and be competent. He has no qualms with any of the other rangers, though they find his quirks strange and annoying at times, but never more than that. He was gifted with the ability of Psychometry, so he can sense auras. This leads to some great detective moments as he uses that to track people and items down singlehandedly. He actually wears gloves when not using his abilities, as his powers are so potent, that not having his hands covered would cause him to be constantly observe everyone's auras, which would lead to a complete overload to his senses.

Bridge is autistic. While this is not technically canonical, he is seen as odd by others for literally "functioning differently", not understanding social cues and sarcasm, even the aforementioned gloves for sensory issues, albeit extrasensory reasons. He's incredibly detail oriented as well, leading him to be the hands down best detective of the team when you also add in his psychometry. He has a lot of strange quirks, such as doing handstands to think better, and always doing a wiggly hand gesture when talking about how he likes his toast "Buttery" (a gesture I still repeat to this day.). He also has a fantastic relationship arc in the show with a girl named Sophie, which I won't spoil but it is BEAUTIFUL.
