Magical Source, Mystic Force!

20 years ago, a war broke out in the mystic dimension, waged by the evil warrior Morticon. He sought to break free from the Underworld and conquer every dimension he could reach. To fight them, the five Mystic Wizards, Udonna, Daggeron, and the Gatekeeper fought them back. The Mystic Wizards lost their lives, but in the process allowed the Gatekeeper to close off most connections between the Mystic World, our world, and the Underworld.

Now, after an earthquake causes the barrier between the worlds to loosen and Morticon begins to fight again, Udonna combines the powers of the Mystic Wizards and the Morphin' Grid and recruits 5 new folks from our realm to become their successors. These teens take to the job, learning how to cast spells and fly on brooms, as well as fighting the monsters from the Underworld, and working at their local record store.

Favorite Characters!

Charlie "Chip" Thorn a.k.a. Mystic Force Yellow Ranger

Chip Thorn is a nerd through and through. He considers himself the resident "Superhero Expert", hewore a cape everyday to highschool and prom, he was in the chess club, loves fairy tales, and is a member of COUNTV (Containment of Underworld Nocturnal Transylvanian Vampires). This is allbefore he found out that magic was truly real. Even with all this, he's easily the most cheerful ranger, glad to learn more about the mystic world, and taking to everything the fastest of any of his team members. While others were skeptical about the power rangers and the mystic realm, Chip wanted in from the beginning to save lives.

I fucking love Chip. He was my favorite ranger of all-time growing up, and is probably my second favorite ranger from the Power Rangers series. I saw myself in him as a kid, someone who loved magic and superheroes, who got bullied, but still ultimately wanted to be a hero and save lives. He's so fun as a character, I'm a sucker for characters who become heroes and are just so genuinely happy and proud to take on that path of life. He fits that archetype to a T. In my opinion, he deserved to be the Red Ranger more than the one in the show (sorry Nick!). He's happy even when things get rough, and cares so so deeply about his friends and family, getting truly serious when they're in danger. He's even happy to have a cape, and is one of the few male yellow rangers in Power Rangers!

Daggeron a.k.a. Solaris Knight

One of the Ancient Mystics that the Rangers gather their power from, and the student of Leanbow, head of the Mystic Wizards, Daggeron has spent the last 19 years stuck as a frog. He's a no nonsense, strong-hearted warrior who fights for what is right no matter the cost. After being freed from his cursed frog form, he becomes a mentor to the rangers, guiding them to their full potential. He has a pet cat genie named Jenji, and his megazord is literally a train. The Harry Potter inspiration unfortunately is a little apparent, but what do you expect it was 2005 (or 2004 for the Sentai season).

Daggeron is fantastic, and I'll admit, a childhood crush. Funny enough, I ended up dating two wonderful men who look like him in different ways, go figure :P. He's played by Doggie Cruger's actor, John Tui, who brings a magnificent royal energy to the role. He's a guy who doesn't demand respect, it just comes naturally to him. Of course, there are times when he can be too set in his ways, but by the end he learns to let loose. He's also not truly a stick in the mud, and has some really funny moments, especially with Jenji. He also straight up has one of the coolest ranger designs in honestly the entire series, in a season which already has one of my favorite designs. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a good cape.

Vida Rocca a.k.a. Mystic Force Pink Ranger

A punk tomboy, Vida is a fantastic DJ and was absolutely ready to accept her role as a Ranger and help people out. Of course, until she found out she was the Pink Ranger, which as she puts "I hate pink!". She's a bit of a hothead but always has her heart in the right place, even if she's a bit headstrong and righteous. She defends her friends when they're accused of wrong-doing, and was Chip's only friend throughout school, defending him from bullies. She also at one point, becomes a vampire, and struggles fighting that off, only being able to with the help of her friends, especially Chip. She also cares intensely deeply for her sister, Madison, the Blue ranger.

Vida is probably the character who goes through the most development I'd say, even if it's not always present. She goes from hating pink and anything feminine to sporting pink hair and accepting that part of herself. She goes from being controlling over her belongings to being much more able to share, and her vampire arc is fantastic. She taught me as a kid that it was okay to like things that were "girly" too, and that I could still be cool as hell while doing so, it didn't make the girly things uncool. She also has some fantastic outfits that are just dripping with mid 2000s style in the show, and her vampire arc is soaked in queer subtext, to the point of the actress saying that Vida is most likely pansexual, which I will always accept as canon.
