Didn't work on my website much today, but still had a good one. My brain is honestly blanking on anything to write as I'm sitting here unfortunately, lmao. I started playing through the original Resident Evil, specifically the Deadly Silence port on DS. I've always been interested in the series, but as much as I love horror, I do NOT do well with horror games. I also tried playing it a few years back, and didn't know how to approach playing the game, so had a really rough time and gave up pretty quickly. However, this playthrough I'm having a good time with it! Definitely difficult, like I've died a few times, and I am suuuper worried about using my limited saves wisely, but I think it's going well. That's all I've got right now unfortunately, so I'll end it here. I'm gonna go play ukulele.

Phewwwwwwwwwww. Good lord, just got the first set of October's watchlists from 2020 together and holy shit that was a little tedious. SO much copy and pasting links so I can save some space on my website. I'll continue to do the other years but good lord that took a lot of time, and I haven't even added the links to the pictures. Well, whatever.
I had to factory reset my Steam Deck today which sucked, as it had stopped working about 5 days ago, but I felt nervous about doing it. Luckily, I still had most of the games installed on the SD card that didn't get wiped with the reset. I've redownloaded the Ghostbusters game, a game I have super fond memories of playing the demo of on Xbox 360. I really miss when it was the norm for a new game to have a demo.
Nowadays some Nintendo games and some indie PC stuff will get em, but that seems to really be about it. I loved playing the Minecraft demo for hours on end on the 360, before I ended up getting it for my birthday. Which I then sucked at so bad at that I didn't play for about a month. I realized my eyes were unfocusing while I'm writing this, I think I'm a little more tired than I realized, oops. Well, guess I'll cut this short then!

Been trying to work on the new horror section for my website, but getting stuck a little unfortunately. Every year in October, I watch at least 1 horror movie every day. I wanted to try and make a section showcasing each year's selection, and I had what I think is a prety good idea! A shelf-like background, and pngs of DVD spines of each film lined up, and maybe each would link to the Wikipedia page about it?
Unfortunately, I'm struggling to find any good resource for the DVD spines in good quality and for free. I recall a trend on Twitter going on where people did this kind of thing for their Letterboxd Top 4, but unfortunately, I'm struggling to find it, and Twitter's search function is no help. Well, I'll keep looking and see if I can make somethin look good for it, because I really like the idea I got.
If worse comes to worse, I could just make like, Letterboxd collections for them but I kinda don't super like linking to other social media off here, dunno why. I don't mind when other folks do, but for some reason I like keeping this as a more low-key, less web 3.0 based site. Iunno, guess we'll see what I can do!

Three nights in a row, whoa! Right now, I'm working on a horror shrine, and decided to write another journal entry while I'm at it. I'm hoping to get out my horror shrine before October, or at the very least before Halloween. No idea how likely that is, but we'll see! I went to Spirit Halloween for the first time this season, and had a pretty good time!
Lots of cool new animatronics, though I'm always disappointed that the licensed ones like the Michael Myers and Xenomorph ones, seem to just kind of turn and maybe raise an arm. Though the Freddy Fazbear animatronic looks FANTASTIC! It's so cool looking, and I love the little showstage they've crafted for him. Not a fan of the new Jason mask that they've got out. It only comes with a machete, not just solo, which feels kinda scummy. I also don't like the design of it itself, with the whole new Jason Universe or whatever. The holes are too small, the brow chevron is too close to the eyes, and it all just feels a little offbrand.
Most exciting though, I bought liquid latex and fake blood! Back about 7 years ago, I was REALLY into doing SFX makeup, especially gore. I stopped for a long time, due to just a myriad of reasons, but decided to dip my toes back in. I was really afraid that I would have lost my skill, but luckily I've still got it! If I can figure out a way to make a blurred photo like a spoiler discord image, I'll show it below. Think that's all! :3

Don't get super attached, I doubt this'll be an everyday thing, but it's the next day and I figured I would at least try to keep it a little consistent lmao. This site is fun to work on but at the same time, I'm not super well trained in this kinda stuff. This website is kinda mainly spaghetti code, if I'm using that term right. Mix and matches of copy pastes from tutorials from when I first started, to my own attempts at actual HTML coding.
Right now, I'm listening to some music as I write this, I dunno why that feels necessary to note. It's Anthems For A Seventeen Year-Old Girl, the yeule version, from I Saw the TV Glow. I don't know if I can ever bring myself to watch that movie I'll be real. I applaud everything it's done and as far as I'm aware it's very pro-"come out and live your true self", which is fantastic. But right now in the situation I'm in, that's not exactly the safest option. I'm hoping to change that very soon, and I want to live as authentically as I can. Like I've dreamt for a while. Jeez, second journal post and I've already loredumped, oops. Anyway, I'm still excited for Halloween. thumbs up emoji

Finally getting my journal page up and running! It's been a hot minute since I've updated the website, but the urge to do so struck me again. Iunno what I'll be putting on this journal yet, but here we go. September just started and I'm super excited for Halloween already lmao :P. Every year in October, I watch at least 1 horror movie everyday, so I've been assembling a list to pick from for that, which is currently I believe at over 300 movies. Horror as a genre and Halloween are one of my biggest fixations, and I've been thinkin about adding a shrine to that on the website as well. Not sure yet, who knows. We shall see! For some reason the website doesn't want to display the final punctuation to this paragraph? So I dunno what's up with that. Problem for future me ig :3
